The Challenge. CT Global’s client, a regional healthcare provider, wished to expand its use of analytics to support monthly reporting. The current process did not adequately aggregate data and was limited and ad hoc. The work effort to create a monthly report and supplemental analysis of patient demographics, diagnostics information, billing, and payer information was quite significant. The client also wished to replace its Excel-based profit reporting solution, but this was postponed until the need for analytics and improved reporting was met.

The solution using these tools was intended to empower business users to ask the more insightful – or the “right” – questions, enable better operational and financial goals, and measure and predict how operational changes would impact operational efficiencies and financial results.  SAS Office Analytics and Visual Analytics were excellent tools to support these needs.
